Temazcal
It is a sacred space representing the womb of Mother Earth. It is a small dome made of branches and twigs. It has its origins in the traditions of many tribes in various places around the Earth. The sweat lodge combines all four elements – the stones are heated in a huge fire, then placed in a hole in the center of the temazcal and poured with water. Smoke vents are also placed on the stones, and fragrant, purifying air is distributed throughout the space with a wing. The ceremony takes place in complete darkness, with prayers and the singing of traditional sacred songs. Leaving temazcal is like rebirth. The purpose is not only to cleanse and heal the body, but also the feelings, thoughts and spirit, as well as the healing of all our relationships and the entire planet.
